'The way the emoji appears is due to Unicode presentation on iOS, and on its own is not a violation of our rules. Twitter user is claiming to have originally found the emoji over a month ago.įollowing some serious offence caused to LGBTQ social media enthusiasts, Twitter has now released a short statement to Papermagazine recognising the tough situation at hand. On desktop computers, the image is visible as a pride flag followed by the 'condemned' sign, but on a phone, the sign is embedded on top of the flag itself. Instead of being an official emoji created by the Unicode Consortium, this new addition seems to be a result of glitching in the display settings on mobile devices.
